The Office for Disability Ministry serves as a resource and advocate for Pastors and Clergy, parishes, catechetical leaders, school staff, individuals, and families, providing tools, support, and guidance to make the Catholic faith accessible to all. Our mission is to ensure that every person, regardless of ability, is welcomed, valued, and fully included in the life of the Church. Rooted in the Gospel and the dignity of every human person, we strive to foster belonging, faith formation, sacramental participation, and opportunities for all to share their unique gifts and actively contribute to building the Body of Christ.

We walk alongside persons with disabilities and their families, as well as the parishes, schools, and communities that support them. We believe persons with disabilities are not simply recipients of ministry—they are valued members of the Body of Christ, with unique gifts to share and an important place in the life of the Church.

The USCCB's more recent sacramental guidelines reinforce this beautifully, stating that “all persons with disabilities have gifts to contribute to the whole Church” and that when they are welcomed and invited to participate fully, “the Body of Christ is more complete.”
