January 2025
- It’s a new year! Take the first month of 2025 to recap all the great things that happened at your parish in 2024. You can make it into one post or multiple - make sure to share pictures of smiling faces!
- It’s a Jubilee Year in the Church; that means lots of opportunities for social media content (you can find out more about that under the “resources” section of this newsletter). This month from Jan. 24-26 is the Jubilee of the World of Communication. Create a post telling the story of your parish’s communication over the years - how has it changed? what has it impacted? This can be in video, written, graphic, or photo format.
- January is Poverty Awareness Month. Create a post about how your parish has helped fight poverty in your community and share more opportunities for parishioners to do so.
February 2025- With the Jubilee year, comes many opportunities for social media content. This month we celebrate:
- The Jubilee of the Armed Forces, Police, and Security Personnel: Feb 8-9
- Jubilee of Artists: Feb. 15-18
- Jubilee of Deacons: Feb. 21-23
- February is Black History Month
- For explaining Black History Month to kids, try National Geographic.

- Share stories of Black Catholic Saints!
- National Marriage Week
- Highlight couples in your parish: take a photo of them and have them share a bit about their love story!It’s a new year! March 2025- With the Jubilee year, comes many opportunities for social media content. This month we celebrate:
- Jubilee of the World of Volunteering: Mar 8-9
- 24 Hours for the Lord: Mar. 28
- Jubilee of the Missionaries of Mercy: Mar. 28-30
- Lent begins this month
- Ask individuals, couples, or families from your parish to share a reflection for each week of Lent.
- Share with parishioners the USCCB’s Daily Lenten Calendar.
- CRS is celebrating 50 years in 2025! Share their Stories of Hope on your social media pages.
- Rite of Election - March 9th
- The Diocese of Davenport Rite of Election is on March 9th at Sacred Heart Cathedral. If you have any OCIA candidates, feature them on your social media pages and have them share a bit about the experience!
April 2025- With the Jubilee year, comes many opportunities for social media content. This month we celebrate:
- Jubilee of the Sick and Healthcare Workers: April 5-6
- Jubilee of Teenagers: April 25-27
- Jubilee of Persons with Disabilities: April 28-30
- Holy Week
- Post recap pictures of your Holy Week Liturgies.
- Ask parishioners to share the fruits of their Lenten season.
- Create graphics to post each day of Holy Week with quotes from the readings for the day.
- Easter
- Highlight any parishioners coming into the Church at the Easter Vigil, and have them share about their experience of the sacraments of initiation.
- Take photos of your Easter liturgies to post along with an Easter message from your pastor.
- Ask youth of your parish to share what Easter means to them - share in the form of short videos.

- Highlight any parishioners that came into the Church at the Easter Vigil, and have them share about their experience of the sacraments.
- Ask the youth of your parish to share what Easter joy means to them - share in the form of short videos.
- Mother's Day
- Ask parishioners how their mom’s have impacted their faith journeys.
- Highlight a few moms on your socials - what is their favorite part of being a mom?
- Post about our Holy Mother, Mary!

- Father’s Day
- Highlight dads in your parish - ask them about what fatherhood means to them and their favorite part about it.
- Have your pastor or a parish staff member share a “Happy Father’s Day” message on your social pages.
- Ask youth in your parish their favorite things about their dads!
- Juneteenth
- Create a graphic to teach parishioners about the significance of Juneteenth. You can share it along with the USCCB’s document against racism.
- World Refugee Day
- World Refugee Day brings attention to the ongoing difficulties faced by refugees and raises awareness in our own communities about the conditions endured by refugees. Learn more at https://www.unhcr.org/us/get-involved/take-action/world-refugee-day or CRS World Refugee Day.

- If you’re parish isn’t hosting any festivities, highlight a few veterans in your parish community!

- Share a message from your parish wishing Bishop Walsh a “happy birthday!”
- If Bishop Walsh has visited your parish, post with a picture from the visit!

- `Jubilee of Young Adults and Young People: July 28 - August 3
- Share a short video on your socials of a “day in the life” of a parish staff member or your pastor.

- Oct. 4th is also the anniversary of the publication of Laudate Deum, Pope Francis' apostolic exhortation on care for creation (a follow up to Laudato Si). Post a quote from the text.
- October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month.
- Post any resources, faith-sharing groups, or support for families grieving the loss of pregnancies or infants.
- If there are any families in your parish willing to share their story of loss, highlight them on your social media pages. It may help others going through the same thing to feel less alone!

February 2025- Social Media Highlight Inquiry - Template Message: the most successful social media posts tend to be those that feature people/smiling faces from your community. It will be helpful to have a go to “request template” to make sure you are consistently sharing community stories on your social media pages!

Our parish registration forms are one of the first impressions that newcomers have of our parish. We want them to be welcoming, accessible, and easy to fill out. We put together a template that you are free to use to update your parish’s form.
