September 5While visiting a parish in his diocese recently, Bishop Gabriel Edoe Kumordji, SVD of Ghana, Africa was dismayed to find the church building without a roof. A strong wind blew it off in the coastal community of West Africa. Just a year ago, he advised the parish to plant trees to serve as a windbreak to protect the building. Trees had not been planted.Read More

The Mission Cooperative Plan (MCP) of the Diocese of Davenport promotes awareness of missions worldwide in the parishes throughout the Diocese. Each year representatives of missionary congregations are invited to visit select parishes to share their experience and ask for financial support and prayers. Groups applying to the Missionary Cooperative Plan must be in good standing serving in foreign countries or in a diocese in the United States that has been designated as a missionary by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Michael the Archangel was founded in November 1986 by Most Rev. Michael Olatunji Fagun, Bishop Emeritus of Ekiti Diocese in Nigeria.The congregation has over 166 professed sisters working in different dioceses across the Western, Southern and Northern parts of Nigeria, in the United States, and in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Ghana, Italy.They provide assistance to the poor by educating the poor by providing free/subsidizing basic education for more than 980 children in the Northern, Southern and Western part of Nigeria; by providing free and subsidized primary health care services to the villagers and those who cannot afford the high cost of public hospitals' bills.The fund from the appeal will be used solely for the support of the missionary work of the Sisters of St. Michael the Archangel.Parish (Appeal Location): City: Appeal Date: St. Andrew Church Blue Grass St. Anthony Church Davenport Group 15: Piarist Fathers Province of the United State and Puerto Rico
They work in the Archdioceses of Havana, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Quetzaltenango (Guatemala), San Juan and Washington and in the Dioceses of Lexington, Ponce and Tabasco (Mexico). In these locations, we generally minister in schools and parishes.Their mission work includes: Cuba (1 parish, 1 chapel and 2 socio-educational centers), Guatemala {1 parish, 31 chapels and 3 schools), Mexico (2 chapels), Ponce, PR {l House of Formation), Hager Hill, KY (1 school and 1 outreach program) and San Juan, PR (1 parish and 1 school). All of our mission sites are located in impoverished areas .All funds from the Mission Appeals will help assist all six missions. The funds from the MCP will enable them to:- Provide formation for 30 seminarians preparing for priest hood,
- Offer basic health care and education to children in backward and tribal areas,
- strengthen rural missions by ensuring daily sustenance and medical aid for missionaries ,
- Extend support to humanitarian initiatives including care for differently abled children,
- individuals with physical and mental disabilities, and elderly women residing in the destitute home.

The Diocese have witnessed several terrorist attacks by Jihadists on churches, homes, and schools and lamented with compassion for the suffering victims.
In spite of the threat of terrorism, their Bishop has responded proactively. He has established inter-religious dialogue initiatives to foster understanding between Christians and Muslims and humanitarian relief programs for the victims of religious violence. Group 19: Farm of the Child / Finca del Niño
As the only Catholic children's home in this region, Farm of the Child serves populations
with limited access to education, medical care, and pastoral support.Their ministries include:- Six family-style homes for children who have experienced abuse, abandonment, or severe neglect.
- St. Peter's Catholic School (K-6) and Vincent Pescatore Catholic School (7-9), providing academic instruction and Catholic formation.
- Sacred Heart Medical Clinic, caring for over 1,500 patients annually while faithfully upholding Church teaching.
- A Transition to Independent Life Program for teens and young adults aging out of our residential care.
- Holy Family Chapel, the sacramental and spiritual center of our mission community Our mission is guided by the Franciscan Sisters of Honduras, international missionaries, Honduran staff, and benefactors who accompany children and families in faith, healing, and hope.
MCP funds will be used exclusively for programmatic needs in Honduras, including:- Catechesis, sacramental preparation, and faith formation.
- Educational materials, teacher salaries, and school operations.
- Medical supplies and clinical care.
- Food, clothing, and household needs in the children's homes.
- Maintenance of facilities that house, educate, and care for our youth.
Those who will directly benefit include:- Children living in our family-style homes.
- Students attending our Catholic schools.
- Families and individuals receiving medical care.
- Youth preparing for independent adulthood.
- Local communities and neighbors engaged in our sacramental and pastoral ministries.

The Catholic Diocese of Same (pronounced SAW-may) is in Northeast Tanzania, in the Kilimanjaro Region. The Diocese of Same has a population of 623,000 people, of which 45% are Christians, 35% are Muslims, and 20% follow traditional African religions. Catholics number 74,104.Tanzania is one of the poorest countries in the world, with 80% of the population residing in rural areas practicing subsistence farming. Tanzania has a population of 70 million people, 49% of whom live in absolute poverty, earning less than $2.15 a day.One of the serious problems facing the people of Same District is poor health. South of Same District consists of five villages. All these villages have a population of 19,105 and there is no access to health services. People walk for more than 8 hours to reach a medical clinic. Due to the lack of nearby clinics.

Their congregation has 98 sisters serving across 24 _parishes in the Diocese ofMutare Zimbabwe with additional communities in Harare, Malawi, Virginia USA. They are working in some of the worlds remote areas, deeply committed to responding to the needs of the church. The congregations serves those who are suffering in rural areas particularly those lacking access to education. They have stablished a local primary school to ensure safe schooling and prevent early marriage especially among girls. The Diocese occupies a total area of 2,884 km2 covering the entire Nandi County government. From the 2019 National population census, the diocese has a total population of approximately, 885,711 with an estimated over 313,655 Catholic, representing 35.4% of the population in the region. Currently, the diocese has 38 parishes with 53 local diocesan priests. One parish was created in September 2025 due to the growing Catholic population.The majority of their parishes are situated in rural areas where many of the faithful face economic hardships and struggle to sustain their families.The Missionary Appeal will help to support the following identified priority areas:- Ongoing formation and capacity building for catechists and other Pastoral agents
- Vocation promotion
- On-going formation for the clergy
- Justice and peace
- Programs for orphans and vulnerable children

We currently have only 20 priests, including the retired and the sick.The Diocese urgently need support for the formation of native clergy and the upkeep of mission facilities. Our Regional House is located in Freeport, Illinois.They are committed to:- Special care of children.
- Education and formation of youth.
- Care of the sick and underprivileged.
- Pastoral ministry in parishes.
- Social and developmental work.
- Spiritual formation through retreats, workshops, and marriage counseling.
MCP funds will be used to:- Provide scholarships for at-risk students.
- Feed the poor and homeless.
- Train youths in skill acquisition.
- Support girls in our formation houses.

A lay organization serving the Archdiocese of Guadalajara. Each year, VALORA assists more than 1,800 underprivileged people each year through a variety of apostolates. One of these is VALORA Counseling, through this apostolate Valora provides free personal and family counseling for low-income individuals, addressing issues such as domestic violence, gender inequality, depression, anxiety, infidelity, addictions, communication problems within couples and families, and other social challenges. Also help people who suffer forced disappearances of family and/or friends. Counseling is provided in person in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, and online throughout Mexico, Colombia and the United States.VALORA has a team of approximately 200 volunteers and 13 staff members, including family consultants, psychologists, and spiritual directors. VALORA also produces faith-based content through VALORA Radio Online, digital media, and social networks, reaching people throughout Mexico and beyond. Through our programs and media outreach, our mission is to help build a more peaceful Mexico, one that lives closer to God.MCP funds will be use to:- Expand our service area through the construction of four new classrooms on a third floor.
- The training of counselors to support individuals affected by forced disappearances of family members or friends, the professional and systematic implementation of our accompaniment.
- The expansion of our Virtual Counseling and Support Network, which allows us to serve the migrant brothers and sisters who do not have the financial resources to access this service in the United States and Latin America.
