In the video, the Tanzanian priest, who recently studied at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, speaks about the needs of his home diocese of Rulenge-Ngara, which include access to clean water, maternity homes and tuition for seminarians. This year, eleven missionaries have been selected to participate in the 2020 Missionary Cooperative Plan for the Diocese of Davenport. Please keep them in your prayers as they make appeals in our Diocese.
GROUP 1. Missionaries of Jesus |
An international and Multicultural religious community. Founded in the Philippines in 2002 by a group of 41 religious missionary men called and inspired by the mission and humanity of Jesus, who call us to make disciples of all nations.
Working in the Philippines, (Teresa, Antipolo, Modesta, Cubao, Baguio, Davao, Digos, Lanao), Papua New Guinea, (Lae) Guatemala (Tierra Blanca, Ciudad Guatemala), and in the USA (Los Angeles and Brownsville, TX).
How to donate.
The Congregation was founded on November 28, 1887, by Blessed John Baptist Scalabrin. A religious congregation on Missionaries whose specific purpose is the assistance of migrants and refugees of different cultures, religions and ethnicities in 32 countries and on five continents.
The Scalabrinians care for migrants and refugees in a variety of ways: socially, culturally and spiritually.
Provide education in schools, local organization for cultural activities, and care for the sick, counseling and legal referral, advocacy and care for the elderly.

GROUP 3. Diocese of Batticaloa, Sri Lanka |
The Diocese of Batticaloa is engaged in re-evangelization, training programs for the lay people, interreligious dialogues, sustaining orphanages, education programs for students and training programs for catechists.
The Diocese is comprised of Hindus, Buddhist, Muslims and Christians. Christians are a minority in Sri Lanka as well as Eastern Province.
Supporting the children with special needs - The diocese has started a special home The Ozanam for the children with special needs.

Philippine Disciples of Mary want to bring Christ to the youth and youth of Christ, is realized through systematic youth ministry in parishes and schools as well as through the formation of dedicated educators, parents and volunteers. Have more than 250 teachers-educators and volunteers, 400 youth leaders and 20,000 young people under their apostolic care.
Continue and expand our ministries. Donations from the Mission Cooperative appeal has been one of our most dependable sources of aid for which we are extremely thankful.
GROUP 6. Catholic Diocese of Rulenge-Ngara |
The diocese is located in a remote and rural area in the Northwestern part of Tanzania, East Africa. Close to Lake Victoria. It serves a total population of 1,090,669. 332,501 are Catholic. The Diocese consist of 27 parishes, 2050 small Christian Communities.
Money collected from this appeal will help:
Based out of Albuquerque, NM. Composed of professed Priest and Brothers serving primarily among the Native American and Hispanic communities in the Southwestern area of the United States. Currently serving twenty one missions.
The funds received from the Mission Appeals: will go mainly to keep the support the work of our missionaries:Building maintenance, payment of utilities, vehicle maintenance, staff salaries, support of Religious Education Programs, Sacramental Ministry, etc. The most important program that be supported by these funds is the help that we give. To families who qualify with tuition so that their children can receive a Catholic Education.

The Piarist Fathers is a religious order of priests and brothers. We were founded in Rome (Italy) by Saint Joseph Calasanz in 1617.
Funds collected from the Mission Appeal will be used for the following projects:
Priestly formation of candidates for service in the United Stated and Puerto Rico.
Youth ministry in the parishes
Scholarships to children from poor families.
Summer missionary experience in the poor areas of Tabasco, Mexico and in the Island of PR.
Prospective foundation in a poor neighborhood, still to be identified.
Foundation of a new Mission in Guatemala, already in process
Mission: Fe y Vida trains pastoral agents, young leaders, and parents for the New Evangelization of Latino youth in the United States. It does this by focusing on their personal development and faith formation, and by preparing young Catholics for leadership in the Church and in society.
The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Mother of Christ was founded on October 7, 1937 by Archbishop Charles Heerey, CSSp. an Irish missionary to Nigeria. His aim was to raise the status of women and the less privileged.
Faithful to our charism of compassion, we engage in pastoral work, medical work, education of children, social work and other works of charity in keeping with the spirit of our foundation. Flyer

Establish in 1918, to proclaim and witness to the Good News of Jesus Christ. The Society seeks to establish the Catholic Church where the Gospel has not been preached, help local churches evangelize their laity, promote dialogue with other faiths, and foster among all baptized people an awareness of their missionary responsibility. They Minister in fourteen different countries mainly in Asia and around the Pacific Rim.
