September 2025
Dear Pastor, ADA Coordinators, and Friends,
First and foremost, thank you for the time, energy, and faithful commitment you dedicate each year to the Annual Diocesan Appeal (ADA). Your leadership and generosity make it possible for our Diocese to continue serving Christ’s mission in profound and lasting ways.
This year’s theme, “Celebrating Our Faith, Lifting Our Voices,” beautifully reflects our shared call to strengthen our faith and support one another as one family in the Diocese of Davenport. The official ADA launch weekend will be September 13–14, 2025.
The ADA is the Diocese’s primary annual campaign, funding vital ministries and services that touch all 73 parishes and reach far beyond into the wider community. Because of your generosity, the Diocese is able to:
Form future priests, deacons, and lay leaders, while supporting lifelong faith formation
Provide resources for Catholic schools, principals, and teachers
Empower parish life and youth ministries
Offer pastoral care and outreach to those in need
Strengthen evangelization efforts and keep our Catholic faith vibrant across southeastern Iowa
Your participation ensures that the Gospel comes alive in real and meaningful ways—within our parishes, our schools, and in the hearts of those we serve.
In alignment with the Diocese’s Laudato Si Action Plan, we are continuing our commitment to stewardship of the earth’s resources. ADA tools and resources will be made available digitally on the diocesan website under the Stewardship pages. Parishioners may also opt-in for electronic communication only. This not only supports environmental responsibility but also provides cost savings and strengthens diocesan and parish databases for more accurate communication.
To assist you in leading a successful campaign, we have prepared helpful tools and talking points, including:
Why the ADA is essential to the Diocese
The impact of the ADA on parishes and ministries
How diocesan funding works and the role of your gift
The distinction between the ADA and the Upon This Rock capital campaign
Guidance on recurring and planned giving options
It is our hope and prayer that each of our 73 parishes experiences a fruitful and grace-filled Annual Diocesan Appeal. With your support, we truly lift our voices in faith and celebrate the vibrant spirit of our Diocese.
With deep gratitude,
Jennifer Praet
Director of Stewardship
